gênio da música: Sergio Mendes

I can't help but sulk at the thought that I missed Sergio Mendes' concert in Manila (of all places!)

Also contemplating if I should I turn this into a stamp. Your thoughts?
I got acquainted to Sergio Mendes in 2004 through a friend Ed. That week when Timeless dropped he'd been raving about the album. After giving it a hear I came to the conclusion that Timeless is a perfect album to start with if you're not familiar with Sergio's music.

Its a mix of English vocals by contemporary singers and jazz vocalists of '04 singing to the original arrangements of Sergio's best hits. Sometimes I think that most of the album has been drowned in a lot of Will.I.Am and Black Eyed Peas but the original arrangements still comes across.

As much as I want to avoid bringing up the topic. I settled with playing the Timeless album and watching snippets of the concert at the dome. Looks like it went great as expected. Thanks internet and instagram hoomans. You're wonderful! pero #araykobeh

Sergio Mendes is 75 years old this year. I don't know how possible it is for him to travel back to Manila and perform again (fingers crossed.) Given the circumstances I may have to go see the man perform in Brazil (fingers and toes crossed.)
