If Mabini spoke from the grave

Making its rounds on the interwebs are reports that Epy Quizon, who plays Apolinario Mabini in Heneral Luna (2015), came across a group college students who asked "why Mabini was seated throughout the film like a lazy mofo"

Say what?
"Ano kaya ang itinuturo Sa history classes ng (mga) bata ngayon? May lumapit nga sakin grupo ng college students asking bakit lagi ako nakaupo? Ang tanong ko lang…Hindi niyo kilala Si (Mabini)? -Epi Quizon on his FB page

Some intellectuals attribute this phenomenon to the lack of focus on education and local TV culture of jejemon, and television crazes such as Aldub and Pastillas Girl. Be that as it may, I am thankful that this film is filling in for whatever they slept through in class. Thank you, Jerald Tarrog et. al. for making Heneral Luna. Aldub you.

Its awful to generalize that students are getting dumber or to even second guess what these kids are learning regardless if they hail from public or private schools. FYI Mabini is a product of local schools (eat that K to 12.) Basically your argument is invalid if you didn't do your research.

We have to exercise patience in dealing with ignorance. After all, its just the internet. Amplifying stupidity since forever. And if Senor Mabini were alive today I am sure he could forgive the ignorance.
