Cable Cars

I am happy to be back in San Francisco. For the record, this will be my first time to ride a cable car (its on my tourist check-list.)

The modes of transportation in the city are quite varied, there are cabs, buses, and trains. I've been adamant to try the trains but I was advised against it since it going to pass a shady part of town (so much for that.) Yet nothing's quite like the vintage F trains which I did get to ride.

The F train or streetline car traverses Market Street all the way to Fishermen's Wharf. On my trip I boarded from the famed 'happiest point' of San Francisco the Castro district. I had ridden it up to downtown Powell St. to ride the cable car that would bring me to Hyde St..

Your friendly neighborhood journalist is right on time for the cable car.

This is one of those "touristy" things to do when in San Francisco. It's quite interesting to see the staff are dressed up for the part. Even the gripman has a vintage attitude.

This man is the cable car driver. Caption this photo.
